Clean, safe, reliable drinking water should not be taken for granted. Almost 400 water systems in California are failing and many more are at risk of failing, but Cucamonga Valley Water District (CVWD) consistently provides water that passes stringent water tests with excellence.
Since joining the CVWD Board of Directors, the district received an upgraded bond rating from Fitch Ratings Inc. in 2022 to "AA+" and maintained that rating in 2024. The rating and evaluation includes the district's water system and standalone credit profile (SCP). This is the result of exceptional operational management and employee performance.
The bond rating provides an independent unbiased examination of the status of the agency. The rating agency undertakes a tremendous amount of due diligence before coming up with its rating. The rating and evaluation is particularly meaningful because they make them in comparison to similar utilities.
